That's just the grease and dirt that has fallen away from the inner idler bearing.
Been working on it all morning. There is an "eyed" snap ring on the outside of the hub located on the inside clear in against the shaft bearing.
Evidently, that snap right snaps into a groove on the shaft as it is installed. Pullin' the pulley/bearing on the other side of the machine now so that I can move the whole works out the left side of the machine a bit to get to it.
I coulda pulled on that hub until I turned 19 again and it would have never given away. Gots to release that snap ring first. :>(
