I live 4 miles from Matt and graduated from high school with his father in 1963. They are great people ! Like Matt told the girls, it"s a show, Some of the show is is real and some of it is hokie. They will buck bales in one of the show"s coming up. Matt is buying about 100 acres, but his dad"s family owns about 1700 acres and rents the rest. Matt farms with his dad but works out with a local contractor doing home repairs when it"s not farming season. He's not an actor but has a great personality. The reason most of the filming was not done on the family farm his aunt was worried that someone would get hurt and it could cause trouble.
The first 800 acres, his grandpa bought was out of a john boatin the 1947 flood and most had to be cleared to farm it.
This family are a hard working people and their equipment is cherry from the 1964 4020, 8410T and 9750 combine. We are proud of this boy, not many around like him ! Here in St. Louis the show is on CW11, 8:00 pm, Wednesday nights. Some of this may seem out of order as I was trying to answer questions from the earlier post. ps: They have over 1000 acres under seep water as the mississippi& mo rivers are high.
