I definately agree with JRT, people just don't have the compentancey to maintain the tools they buy.
A guy I work with gave me a used Craftsman lawn mower ($300 value). He said it would run for a few minutes before it would stall and he was tired of dealing with it. I noticed the air filter was severely plugged, so I changed that $4 item, and have a very nice lawn mower now.
