I figured it had to be something stupid like that. Last year our county hired a new school superintendant/administrator. His first official act was to propose a 20 million dollar facilities upgrade/building project. He resigned 6 months later. My son attends the same school I did, my mother did, and my dad did. It's and old building, probably needs some upgrades, but not 20 mil worth. Oh yeah, the "No Child Left Behind Act" you mentioned resulted here in yearly Standard of Learing Tests (SOLs), and even with these old buildings, our school district's SOL scores were among the highest in the state. Needless to say, fancy new buildings didn't have anything to do with our test scores. Oh yeah, our baseball team won the state AAA title. Players practised and played their games on the same field that I and my father did. I say all that to say this, there's no need for the excessive amount of local taxes your paying. It's all about the demise of the family and the basic morals and values the family unit once provided future generations. Thank God, where I live that is still practiced. Oh yeah, I'm putting my rebate in a high yield savings account.
