Investigate your government and politicians sometime. It's like all the politicians that have invested in big oil. You might be surprised how many absentee landowners that don't live on the land own land that draws government payments from the CRP program owned by the rich fat cats that pay lobbyist to keep it that way. Take a look at our government ag program and see how much money in it overall actually goes to REAL farmers that make their living off the land producing commodities and into those subsidy programs! Then take a look at how much of the ag program money goes to those that don't make their make living farming, the CRP program, food stamps, government housing projects, government housing loans and such as that! Most of those that have land in CRP can't afford to grow anything profitable off that land with todays input expenses and even make a living off it now let alone make a profitable crop so they want it to stay in that hand out program to serve their little purposes instead of being productive to feed the starving world.
