Phillip: Good luck to you- i have been there, and it all worked out well. 25 years ago my ex and I split, with co-custody of my son. She moved to the city, I went and got the boy every weekend and kept him grounded in the country life. Today he is a world traveller doing film work- paid his own way through university and around the world on internships even though i could have scratched up tuition.
I remarried- have a beautiful wife and 4 more kids (3 girls, 1 boy) and a pretty damn good life. I attended 2 more of my ex's weddings- was a best man in one- and swore that i would stay upbeat regardless. It was tougher on my current wife than it was on me.
