I was cleaning some oats for Dad tonight that he's selling to a guy about 30 miles away and got to wondering-
Who still cleans their own seed, be it oats, wheat, rye, etc...??? So far he cleaned and sold 40 bu. to the guys that come and dehorn our calves, and we gotta do another 100 for the next guy, plus about 40 or so for our own uses. We've got maybe 30-35 bu. done again, just doing a little bit here & there when we can.
And just for those of you who are wondering- We use an old Clipper Cleaner. Not sure what model it is, but it works pretty good yet. Got it at a consignment auction a few years ago because Grandpa's old Clipper was getting pretty beat up. It came with all the screens we need and everything, even though we really only use one set up just for oats.
