well 4 down 2 to go. So far 1 black bull calf. 1 solid black heifer and 2 solid red heifers. All I have left to calve is that shorthorn/angus and an angus/pinzgaur. Was quite the adventure trying to get the one born yesterday in that wind and snow into the shelter. That red angus mama wasnt really amused with me grabbing her 20 minute old baby and walking away with it, actually after 3 steps I was running for my life with it. Loittle girl spent the night outa the wind and rain and is all full energy this am. If this heifer rate keeps up I am not gonna have the 4 steers to feed out like I was planning. I cant bring myself to use them heifers as feeders. In any of your guys experience is creep feeding a good practice as far as calf health and economics are concerned. The 5 day old calves are already chewing hay and looking for things to munch on.
