I believe it would be in your best interest to pull the starter off tractor and do a bench test with just the starter. You don't need to be messing with starter problems and carb problems at the same time. Besides, bench work would save the potential loss of yet another starter switch. You can do a lot of testing yourself with battery and heavy jumper cables while unit is on your work bench.
