Have a look for Long hydraulics posts in the archive for this site. Uniuversals were sold as Longs in USA. I have an Universal 445DT (1978?) which has some queer amendments to the hydraulics so I can't tell you how they SHOULD work. On mine you have to hold down the hydraulic lever to the right of the seat (not the TPH lever)with your right calf, then use the loader controls. Without holding this down, the loader won't work. I bungee this lever up to power a connector on the back for the backhoe. With the lever in the middle rest position, the TPH lever works fine, when its up or down the TPH doesn't work. I don't know if this is how it should work, but have a look at the archive, it's probably a valve stuck (under the seat)
