Im not too awful familiar with the Cub engine,I like the bigger tractors,so I dont know if it has sleeves or not.If so he should change the sleeves,not just hone them out.If it doent have sleeves the cyliders should be checked for round.They can get a little egg shaped and honing them out wont fix that.As for the scoring some stones will make a cylinder appear to have scrathes in it.Hell need to go over them with finer stones.At least thats what Ive always been told.
