It's either that push in detent button like mentioned, line up the splines and slide it on with the button pushed down, it will snap in.
Another newer type, is where the whole collar on the pto shaft end coupler slides back, (we have a challenger rotary mower that has this) hold it back as you slide on the pto shaft.
One thing, make sure the pto shaft splines on the tractor are clean, and that the coupler is clean and lubed enough to keep the moving parts free.
If you jam on an implement pto coupler to the tractors pto shaft that is slightly rusted, it will be stuck but good, even with a little surface rust, has to be clean, probably more so with a newer tractor, no wear on the pto shaft spines. The hired help, particularly one individual used to do this to me, leave the post hole digger on the tractor, when I needed to mow, go to take the digger off, but can't get the shaft coupler off, finally after placing a block of wood, hammering it apart, you could tell the implement's splines had surface rust, clean those out with a wire brush and lightly lube, never drop the couplin in the dirt when not in use, tie it up off the ground, and always check for dirt, grit and or contaminants, clean same before hooking up.
