Way to go. None of us realize how some small act of kindness might give a kid an interest. I remember a few years ago trying some newly tied flies on a pond full of small bluegills. A grandfather and his 3 or 4 year old son came by. We spent the next 15-20 minutes--until Grandma came to get the boy for his bath--with me casting and setting the hook and the boy pulling in the fish. I still don't know who had the most fun.
