Don't let the pto drop below 540 rpm and you'll be fine as long as you have enough HP to run it and the knives are somewhat decent. If your cutting really tall grass and weeds and you don't have the power, it will rip the grass out and it will wrap aroung the cutter shaft. In real tall grass if you're low on power, you can lift it up a bit and go over a second time with it lower. If you run into barbed wire is a real pain to remove. BTDT. Flails are good if any garbage or rocks are hidden in the grass. What make of flail is it? Dave
