Dave, sorry to hear about your dog. A really nice and safe mouse trap is a five gallon pail filled half way with water, take a plastic pop bottle, drill holes in both ends, insert a piece of coat hanger through the bottle and afix it across the top of pail, put peanut butter on the bottle. Place a small board from the floor to the top of the pail and when the mouse crawls up the board for the peanut butter the bottle will spin and he will succumb to the water. One other thing is to place chicken wire over the top to keep unwanted pets out. Works great for me. Gordy
