I saw a picture once of two farmall Ms that a farmer had rigged together to make a 4 wheel drive tractor back in the 50s. He rode on the back tractor and the rig pivoted in the middle when it was steered. The tricycle front wheels of both tractors had been removed. I think it had two big hydralic cylinders that pivoted that the rig to steer it. Apparently the thing was equiped so the throtle and clutch of the front tractor could be controlled from the rear seat. The farmer who built it called it the his red Rhino. He claimed that it could cover 150 acres a day pulling a 20 ft disk.
