I sure am sorry to hear about your pal, and I do wish you the very best of luck on his recovery. I hear you on the $700 x 4 bit. It just can't be done. You made the best decision you could, and now it's a waiting game. As has been mentioned, and maybe you already have them, but a few cats sure do wonders. I give my barn cats a little of the cheapest cat food I find, just enough to keep them around the barn, but not enough to make them full and lazy. Mice and even pigeons don't last long. I actually keep my feed in an open top box and have never seen a mouse in the barn yet. Again, I hope your dog has a quick and full recovery.
