I used to calve in June until my son got all fired up about trying to raise club calves so now we're calving in the mud, but it hasn't been too bad here until now. I rotate graze a little bit and usually turn out the first of May so usually the grass wasn't too tall when I calved in June. I liked having the month of grass for the cows to put on condition from the winter, and I didn't have to feed nearly as much I do right now with the calves on the ground. Lee
