Many thanks to all who answered my post. Yes it would be easier to rebuild an old factory tractor but then it would not be my creation. I have a good running MW Twin Row in my shed now and I love it. But I think that the engineering and building of my own is quite the challange. The vw tranny is one great idea now I am on the search for one. I do have a tranfer case from my s10 pick up to use. It rattled in the truck but I may able to use it. Russ
