Hi Bob, The big "happening" in the Portland area that weekend is the Rose Festival Parade. We call it the "Rain Festival" and our rule is don't cut your hay until after the Rose Parade. The shows don't start until late July, the best being the Great Western Steam-Up in Brooks about 35 miles south of Portland. Even though the show won't be going on, the facility is open during the day and it would be a good trip for you. Do an Internet search for "Antique Powerland" and it will have all the info.
