I have a 93 Chevy long bed, single cab, 4X4, and it has a 34 gallon tank, don"t know what the books says but it died one time pulling into the gas station, and I put 34.somthing gallons in it. The gauge is just in the ball park. Mine will run 75 miles with out come"n off full and the lower the tank gets the faster the needle moves, 34 gallon tank but ti only takes about 5 gallons to make the gauge go from 1/4 to 1/2. To figure mileage, don"t go by the gauge. Do like Eric said fill it up, drive 100 miles, fill up again. If it takes 10 gallons to fill it back up you are geting 10 mpg. 8 gallons=12.5, and so on.
