We got my mil's chickens last year when they moved to a town close by. She started leaving a little grain on the ground in the feed room for the mice. Now we have rats. I had only seen one in the 16 years previous to this. I have seen mice in the same pen as the chickens without any harm coming to them. I put out poison in the feed room last night. Bought a box with 10 packets in it. I put 2 on the floor and the box in a small bucket inside a larger bucket. This morning all were gone except one, so I threw that one to them also. Hope to not see any rats again. I have seen 1 to 4 at a time over the last week.
