I wouldn't be so sure about there not being a cougar or two around...up here in Ontario there have been several reported sitings, lots of pawprints have been found, and they even confirmed scat found near Port Colborne, Ontario, as being that of a cougar. There was a big article on it a couple of months ago in Canadian Geographic. Now whether this cougar is a wild one roaming outside of its range, a zoo escapee, or someone's escaped pet remains to be seen.
