Offer him $1200, $700 is about what the loader is worth. The rest of the tractor at $500 would be scrap value. My advice stay away. For $8000 buy a 35 year old American tractor completely rebuild it and still be money ahead, plus it will be 100 times more reliable and you can still get parts.
