Regardless who gets stuck with the office we are in for a rough ride. I'm a rep, but begining to understand the Dixey Chicks more at the way the main man and his staff got us into this. I used to just blame the man before him, but if that is the best I can do, I best shut up.It's even probably going to be sadder election day for my party. I may have to even decide to jump the fence unless our new man changes his war view for the war on something, can't remember what Bu$h is calling it this last time. I thought my party had the highes morals and kept spending down. The way we all know it has to be so taxes can go down for all of us that actualy pay for the less fortunate and the very very well off. Never considered the dems till latley.
If the numbers are close to right every man woman and child now owes the national debt $42,000.00. Probably will see higher taxes, even though they will offer it with a smile, and try to make us happy in the process. We are worried about walfare, and no one working etc. Maybe the best thing any of us that have a decent job or retired should do is count our blessings.
I'm tired of this crap of I worked hard, bla bla bla. There are folks in my comunity that are very hard workers that don't drive new pickups and ware new cloths.

They are many talented non employed in our area. Kids can't work because they are uninsurable till age 18. All the unemployed used to pay taxes, now they are drawing from the system. It ticks me off big time if they don't try.

I live in a farming comunity and get a large part of my jobs from farmers. I consider all my customers friends, but have any of you looked at EWG, (farm subsaties) and broke it down by your friends names. A close friend of mine is saying if we want cheap food bla bla bla. The guy has bought out so many small farmers, and made the small ones crawl into a hole because they can't compete. HE HAS TAKEN MORE FROM THE GOVERNMENT THAN EVERY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD IN MY HOME TOWN. I'm trying to check for acuracy, but a court house worker in my county claims the top ten farmers get more handouts than every handout in the county including fuel assistance. I will have to see those numbers, and the guy that said it has a dad that is like in the top fourty in our county. He makes fun of us at the coffee shop/ BS dumping area... He is a only child and hopes the death tax in our state gets dropped. He is a wage earner, pays taxes, and helps his dad with field work, his books etc. He says his dad has no debt, and more checks comming in from the government for terracing, subsaties, timber protection, that he can't keep track of all of it. He claims his dad farms the government more than the land. His dad is rounding the late seventy curve and giving his son alot to ease the corperations profit line. His dad can deduct his sons new pickup that dad bought for his hired man, the fuel for it and provides a newer remodeled house, health insurance, beef on the table, electricity and on and on and on for his son.The son and the rest of us just laugh at how the system works. But I promise you this, he should never be the last one to leave the coffee shop as we chop him down more behind his back than we do in person. He totaly knows that too.

MIn wage untill the big increase was $5.15 I think in my state. Wally World lets everyone work part time so they sneak under the wire. So even with my simple mind and a calculator it seems pretty easy.

Take min wage times 2,000 hrs. Child care in my small town is $3.00 per hr per child regardless if the child is sick and does not come. NOW WE ALL KNOW THAT, HECK ANYONE CAN GET FREE THIS AND THAT FROM THE GOVERNMENT===That is another fact made up by us with decent jobs and income. Some do, most don't--had good friends try it, they just gave up. Now if you are a good parent you will certianly have health insurance. Yea their jobs ALL give that away, like most of us got. That was years ago folks in my small town anyway. So subtract from the min wage earner healt insurance--use your own numbers. You know they do not own their house so figure rent, gas for their car to drive them to work, They all drive new cars so we don't need to figure any repairs no doubt. Many are divorced so child support takes 22% of their check or else. They probably need fuel for their cars, fuel for home heating, maybe some electricity and a phone. I can't think of any that do not owe for doctor bills, etc. many are uninsurable because of healt issues, some are insurable, but have riders. So I'm saying guess what folks? Unless these folks get one heck of a break, they will always be on walfare, or behind the 8 ball. Many have just plain given up to be truthfull. I can see ways of improving some of their choices, but heck I will probably be next to fall on my face. So for all of us that are blessed--Of corse we all worked ten jobs fourty eight hrs a day without any breaks from anyone we best smile. Many of us bought in and inflation made us what we are worth today--not exactly the same as earning it you know. Many of us just plain got a gift from our folks or a friend, and that was a opertunity to get a decent job or a education. By education, I'm not only refering to school, maybe mom and dad taught us without us or them even knowing the lessons were delivered. Yea, we can all name off many that are lazy and on assistance. What have we done to help them? Offer them a opertunity to wash our boots, scrup our floors, do other dirty jobs that we have all done etc etc etc. Many are lazy, many don't trust us that have more than them for reasons we al know but do not admit. I strongly suggest, us that are more fortunate trade places for a while with the less fortunate. That would not be fair because we all know that we are just visiting their world, and will be happy in ours before long. Most of us have no idea of their world, and if we get a major healt problem in our families, we may just plain get a chance to see it first hand.

Before any of you grind on my rear end I would like any of you to suggest a solution to a phone call last evening. A lady that I do not even know asked if I had any ideas how to get her husband to the doctors in his wheel chair. He has not spoken in a year and a half, no bladder or other control. They lost their healt insurance when he became ill and unemployed, their nest egg went to the hospitals and doctors. The government run van for wheel chairs in our county is $22.00 per hr. He is a vet, and Drs. are one and a half hrs away, or two and a half depending on what is needed for services. I'm reasonably sure she quit her job to take care of him 24/7. I kind of think she was min wage when she did work---only a guess on that one.

I have a bad habit of being understanding to less fortunate in our comunity, and the word is getting out there farther than I can posibly handle. I loose so much sleep wondering how to help, and laugh if you like, I can't even write this rant post without tears in my eyes, so anyone want to take a crack at me for that I guess I'm ready, may God give you speed and good feelings. While speaking of God, I asked a few church ladies that were talking about a pretty good chunk of change left to the church from a estate, how much was going to be given by the church to the less fortunate. Talk about dirty looks and a lecture on the new carpet that was needed, the new prayer books, and new nicer looking padding for the pews seemed to take over the conversation. Just no money left over for those kind of folks. I then asked if a very down and out family did not indeed attend our church? And if indeed they did always help with their fund raising fish frys etc. I was informed that they prety much just washed dishes, cleared tables and that kind of help. And besides they realy never gave very much money in their weekly offerings anyway because she read how much they gave. And it sure would not hurt to was that old junk car before they come to church.

I appoligize for my rant on a off topic, I hope I feel better now. I best go fill up at the local gas station and cuss some more. Maybe it stoped snowing so I can actualy get something done outside rather than sit here and complain on the putter.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
