My 2001 F150 (4.2L v-6,3.55 rear axle) regularly gets 16-17mpg towing. Trailer is 16" tandem, tractor 1944 JD B, weight of tractor and trailer about 4700#. Towing on reasonably level roads at 60mph. Truck will get 22mpg with no trailer on highway. Measured this over 2000 miles. Not real gutsy, but gets me there pretty efficiently. Paul
