Is there supposed to be any filter material in the box?

What type of material is it?
ENGINE OIL
Can this material be replaced?
YES owners manual says every 8 hrs but most let it go a lot longer. Like every time they change the engine oil.
Does anyone know where to buy it?
Walmart; auto parts store ect
That system is a oil bath air cleaner. Take it apart; clean it out real good and fill with normal engine oil to the line you see in the box.
