The 12 inch auger would add to the price. Check on ebay for prices on leinbach diggers. Price sounds high to me. I recently bought a new Bush Hog digger with 9 inch auger for some where in the $800 range. I was advised by someone knowledgeable that the Leinbach digger did not have good points at the business end of the auger. Point is welded steel and 9 inch replacement points on ebay were $25. The Bush hog has a forged screw on the end and 4 replaceable chisels, and I don't think keeping it in chisels would be as expensive as keeping up the Leinbach points. My Bush Hog digs really good.
