When I built new in 93 after having worked for a builder for 10 years and the word at that time was "Anderson". I said I'm not paying for a name there are a lot of good windows, and I put in Caradco which was supposed to be as good as Anderson. Well, Mr. Caradco should be in jail! Its now 15 yrs later my windows have been sh!t since 97. Yet, my friend has Andersons and he got warranty on several panes of glass that lost their seal and were 25, yes, 25 years old. Me? I can't get sh!t from Caradco and my sashes are rotten after 15 years. So, you see? the name was worth it. As a remodel, my folks put in Marvin casements 12 yrs ago and they cut their heat bill by 1/3. they weren't cheap and if I had seen them when I built in 93 I would have used Marvin.
