Howdy,
Like one of the others who is a partsman said, you never quote a price if you don't know what it is. If someone wants me to give them an eyeball estimate I might throw a figure but will quickly follow that with "but let me make sure" and then find them the actual price. Now, there are times when our main store will do price updates and the cost will go up without me knowing it. But if it does happen, I make good on the old price. What bothers me is the fact that the parts guy went ahead and ordered the kit without the guy asking him to order it. If I were you I would just tell him that it is more expensive than quoted and let him keep the part. He needs to be more careful and actually listen to his customer. God bless.
