I can find no evidence that this tractor was ever red - the paint actually looks original, and is in pretty good condition. I do think the it may have belonged to a school district at one point in time, which might indicate that it was ordered with a custom paint scheme. However, the paint really seems to match the scheme of Cub Cadets. Didn't that paint design begin in around 1960? How can I know for sure about the age of this tractor. Is the serial number the key? Is there a code, or did you use a tractor bible to identify it?
