89 if yor JD dealer didn't adjust the L&D by the tech manual verbatum then that's what needs to be done. I was a service manager at a JD dealership and some technicians had to have assistance to adjust the L&D correctly. Alot of them thought turning nut in bung hole in rear was "adjusting L&D" but it's way more involved. Similiar misunderstanding with 24 v systems.
