ok well its time and has been many years since I have planted ANYTHING. The last time I remember planting was when I was around 14 I'm 33 now and can't remember how and when Grandpa did it. I have tilled the ground and getting ready to lay out rows.I only plan on fertilizing hear the plant as this is a small garden that will be worked mostly by hand. What are thoughts on when and how to fertilize? I got some cow manure and 10-10-10 to do it with. My thoughts is to lay out rows, put fertilizer in rows, cover, then put seed near fertilizer a few days later.I will be experimenting with my mixes over the next couple years to get it rite for a good harvest. gonna try to get my 2 girls involved so they can see where it comes from and maybe try some new things to eat. Even let them pick seed they wanted like sun flowers and giant pumpkins that are advertised to weigh in at 100 lbs. my home is in central Ga. and kinda remember granddad planting around good Friday, he trusted the farmers almanac but I am having a hard time understanding how he figured out the what, when, and how much to do.
