Depends on whether you ask me or my wife of whether I'm a kid or not but....
Friday, I buried my truck almost to the axles. I had 2 tons in the bed and tried to put it in a tight spot that was too wet. It didn't rain Saturday, so Sunday the ground was a little more presentable. My recovery was a classic though. I wanted to get it out before the local experts showed up with the coulda, shoulda, woulda's, and was by myself. It was too wet to get it out with my tractor without having someone drive the truck also. So, I hooked everything up, tied a couple of tires to the front for padding, and a long cord to the coil wire of the truck that reached to my tractor. Started the truck and put it in 4 lo and third (sounded like a good place to start) gear and let the wheels spin. Then got on the tractor and started pulling. as soon as I got it out of the spot and it started pulling itself on solid ground, I stopped the tractor, ran back and stopped the truck. The string to the coil wire was in case I couldn't get to the truck quick enough i could just pull the string and kill the motor. The tires were the overall backup plan. That oughta get me on the cover of safety today huh????
