That's how it is in WI too- we don't even have Castle Doctrine... if we don't try to retreat from a threat, EVEN INSIDE OUR OWN HOUSE, we can be arrested, sued, etc. People in states that have Castle Doctrine can at least stand their ground, anywhere they can legally be. In any event, I don't think you can get away with pointing a gun at/threatening someone anywhere, unless it's in defense of yourself or another person.
