You can find instances of problems with any brand of truck, and also owners that have never had a problem (as is the case with my past Fords). It does seem that the cost of repairs, if needed, are very high with the Isuzu. It calls for well over 20 labor hours to change the head gaskets, and a little over 20 hours to change a later model turbo, the first line in the repair instructions says "remove transmission". No joke.
I bought an '08 Ford diesel 4x4 dually this summer, and couldn't be happier. Milage unloaded is up aroung 18 now, and it's the quietest and smoothest truck I've ever driven. I really liked my 2000, but this one is head and shoulders above it.
