Well while we here in the US were busy running our businesses into the ground and out of the country trying to appease the Unions,the EPA,OSHA,Trial Lawyers etc the countries like China and India economies filled the void with low priced products and consquently their demand for energy has also dramatically increased.To compound the problem we (US gov't) have borrowed an incredible amount of money from the oil shieks in the mideast and from China.Now as our economy has slowed the Fed has dropped the interest rate and created money to save our banks which makes the US Dollar unattractive to foreign lenders and to the sellers of oil to get anymore of our US Dollars which is why the Dollar has been dropping against other curriencies in the world.To make a long story short we as a country have lived above our means for a long time and the bill has come due and high gas/diesel prices are just the start of things to come.
