In August, 2003, an insurance company I was working for as a Claims Adjuster/Claims Analyst was ordered into liquidation. Everyone assumed it was a simple matter of funds from premiums going into a pot, claims being paid out of the same pot, and the pot got empty. Far from it. There were about 8 or 10 different entities involved with various contractual obligations to any or all others.
We were being sued for claims that were not being paid, while we were suing other entities that were obligated to provide the funds and did not.
After the company was ordered into liquidation, I stayed on as an auditor for a year, before leaving. Then, a couple of weeks ago, after 3 1/2 years, they called me back to work to help work with some of the lawsuits. So I'm sure the situation with Farmtrac is far more complicated than it looks.
