Go down to the Deere dealership and they"ll tell you the same thing. At the local green parts counter, they have 3 mason jars containing samples of rotella, deere oil, and something else. Their...hehehe....line is, turn them puside down and wtach which one stays on the sides of the jar longer. what a crock! when asked who makes it? the answer is Shell and if they (shell) could market it (deere formulation) they would instead of rotella. I shake my head and walk out. Snake oil salesmen abound everywhere. That being said......I run deere oil until my warranty expires....that way the creeps can"t scream oil failure and trust me...they will do anything to keep from paying for a new engine.
You can"t go wrong with rotella....or most any other branded oil. Even the off brands are bottled by major refineries.
