This is for a motor mower.should be same. systematic diagnosis of magneto trouble.... remove spark plug lay on engine metal lead and top of plug free from metal spin engine over and see if spark jumps plug gap good spark good magneto.

Remove from plug and place 1/8" from mower body spin motor... spark..plug r/s. No spark. remove magneto flywheel clean and adjust points,all connections clean and tight,unbroken leads,and do not rub on flywheel. temporarily replace flywheel and test whether spark at terminal of HT lead. Spark magneto good No spark. have magneto and condenser tested.
To remove flywheel,prise up with screwdriver..tap nut with soft faced hammer to break flywheel loose. steady as she goes or flywheel can break.
