I had the plug blow on my 01 V-10 superduty. Ford wanted $3800 to replace the head. I found a former Ford Mech who would do it for parts plus $500 which was $1500. I ended up buying a kit on E-bay from Time-sert. It comes with the tools and inserts to do the repair without removing the head. I am not a gear head but I did the repair in about an hour. It has held up fine for 8 months now. I was told that a helicoil is just a temporary fix as they won"t hold. Never read any complaints about the inserts. Ford sucks for not making this right. They designed it wrong and now we have to shell out big bucks to fix their mistake. Use the inserts not the helicoil. E-mail me if you have more questions
