Prices about the same here. I have significantly reduced my custom work for two reasons: Antiquated equipment keeps breaking down and hard to get folks to pay you. Seems the ones that are slow/no pay are the ones that only have animals to satisfy property ag and they aren't interested in spending any money on taxes or animals.
Also, they have absolutely no idea of what it costs to put that bale in their barn. I showed one lady my books and she just couldn't believe what it cost. I was leasing from her and we were on shares. Well when things went thru the roof, I explained to her just how much her "rent" went up and told her that this honeymoon was over.
On breakdowns, last year probably was my worst year ever. Hope IRS is understanding. Grin. We'll soon find out.
