If they do not look starved then why feed hay??? Hay cost money.
Hay is only a supplement to be used threw the rough times and allow more head per acre.
I know guys that use very little to no hay and out perform those that do. They do rotate sections of a field daily and grow winter rye for green grass year round but it just shows with the right situations hay is not needed.
