I can't comment on the auto-trans. I've got a 92 Dodge ex-cab, 4WD, W250 with the Cummins intercooled turbo 5.9., 3.5 axles, and a Gertrag 5 speed manual trans. It will outpull any of my 6.2 GMs or my Ford 6.9 or 7.3 turbo. And, my Ford F250 with the turbo 7.3 has 4.10 axles. Pulling a trailer up long hills, the 5.9 Cummins outpulls it with 3.5 axles - which is pretty amazing. It also beats them all with fuel mileage - empty or towing. I paid $3300 for it with 120K miles and mild rust (from the state of Maine).
Same truck if rust-free would easily bring $5000 - $6000 here in New York. Just the engines bring well over $2000 if in good running condition. Even the four-cylinder 4BT Cummins are bringing over $2000. I tried to buy one yesterday - 140K miles and the guy won't take less then $2500.
