Yes and no. The way that works is the model number is above the serial number. Those numbers are on the left hand side as your sitting on it. Theres a flat spot just below the battery that will have numbers sort of like this. 841 XCVBN The top number is the model number and in my example its an 841. Which by the way I own one of.
