Some years ago a story ran about a Cummins Dodge that ran 1,000,000 miles with nothing done to the engine except a diesel pump overhaul, new injectors, a water pump and clutch kit and several sets of brakes. Never touched the bottom end or had the head off. Was owned by an outfit that put on lots of highway miles delivering 5th wheel RV's. Now that is impressive. The other guy sounds like the old lumber jack who claimed he used the same axe for 40 years, only had 8 new handles and 5 new heads in all that time. ;-)
