I would think you have a 3 cylinder Perkins. The fire wall solenoid is added on. The real selonoid should be on the top of the starter, activated by the lever you're pushing down to activate the bendix. Stand beside the injector pump, with the engine running. Now with a pair of channel locks turn the throttle shaft counterclock wise. If this idles the engine down adjust the linkage some more. It could have slipped on the throttle shaft coming out of the pump. If it does'nt idle down you have internal pump problems. If you have pnuematic style govnors it could be the vacuum line is leaking. If its a mechanical govnor probly one of the springs has broken on the flyweights. Either way watch out because the engine is subject to run away and scatter or you could run over something and get hurt or hurt somebody.
