1918 "JD bought" Waterloo Boy and sold first tractors(in 1918).They had experimentals before that(1912 "MELVIN" dropped in 1914---The "VELIE 12-24"mainly to demonstrate their plows--- And the "DAIN"1915) but never sold them.The Waterloo Boy was sold from 1914 until 1918 when Deere bought the company AND BEGAN SELLING THEM.THIS IS ACCORDING TO R.N.PRIPPS From BIG GREEN JOHN DEERE GP TRACTORS BOOK.IN 1924 WATERLOO BOY WAS CHANGED TO JOHN DEERE NAME (THE MODEL D)
