Here is a scary thought. We just replaced our ancient Kenmore washer with a Maytag. According to the sales guy they are made on the exact same production line. After 2 months the thing went bad. Seems they forgot to bolt the motor in (Ya think that would have been obvious). Finally got a replacement (kenmore) and have loved it since. As much as you may not like the kenmore, we have nearly all kenmore appliances and they have lasted forever (avg age of them is 13 years). You may have just gotten a lemon unit. It happens in production (a lot more often than we want to think).
