The way I check a dirt bike for ware is by balancing the bike and grabing one handgrip with both hands. Shake the bike from side to side and look for side slop in the rear suspension bushings. Also fire it up and with the kickstand down lean it over and foward to raise the rear tire. See if the rear rim runs true. A beaten bike will have a beaten rear rim. Also check to see how much slop is in the rear break pedal pivot bushing. Some are just brass and a little slop is normal. Look to see how worn the pegs are and check their pivot bushings also. Bent or aftermarket handle bars could mean hard crashes. The last thing to allways remember is riding is a well loved sport and most riders love and maintain their bikes so if it looks kinda neglected all over then you may have a used up bike. One last thing to look for is that a poorly maintained chain and chainguides didn't ware a hole in the frame or swingarm.
